Staff Selection Commission conducts the Exam.  Though, every year lakhs of aspirants attempt this exam only a part of them can bag the jobs. It is very necessary to devise a proper strategy to go for this exam if one wishes to come off in flying colours.

Here, are some useful tips to get an edge over others in the examination and secure one’s selection.

1) Plan your time: Make a time table and follow it routinely. Remember, the one who fails to plan, plans to fail.

2) Start practicing earlier: Start your studies atleast 3 months before the exam. Remember, Early bird catches the worm.

3) Follow right books: The SSC CGL Exam is divided in four sections:

a) General Intelligence and Reasoning
b) General Knowledge and Awareness

Purchase books with good content from the market for preparation of each section. Understand the types of questions asked, the level maintained and then follow the proper way to approach them.

5) Divide and study: Make partitions of the syllabus as per each section that can be followed regularly according to the time-table. Do remember to revise what you have learned regularly and timely.

6) Rework on time: Ahead of the examination (3 days before), make sure to revise as much as you can so that your mind can retain it on the day of the exam.

7) Stay fit: Maintain your health during examination as bad health can hinder your progress and preparation. It’s essential to have an active body and mind during the exam days.

8) Practice makes perfect: During preparation read as many books as you can and solve previous year’s paper. Practice more and more to get an edge over others.

9) Do not leave anything for later: Believing a section to be easy, do not leave it for the end. Complete all the sections.

10) Work out consistently: Solve a previous year paper or a mock test on a daily basis. Attempt 200 questions correctly within 2 hours.

11) Use Short-cuts: Learn or find short-cut tricks to solve mathematical problems or keeping difficult topics in mind and memorize them well.

12) Manage questions: Manage time of your question paper and predefine the time that you are going to devote to each section and question. For example:

15 minutes to general knowledge,
20 minutes to English,
35 minutes to reasoning,
and the remaining time to Quantitative Aptitude.

Bear in mind, 8-20 minutes may be consumed in filling up the boxes as per your speed.

13) Map sections: Make a map the section you are going to attempt first, second, third and last according to the time management.

As the clock is ticking faster, pull up your sleeves and start working!!!

May you succeed in your endeavours.
